I note that the waiting time is a consistent grouse just based on reviews here, not to mention those who haven't bothered to post. I had waited for more than 2hrs for a simple cash transaction. While staff attitude is good - serious review of the queuing system and processes is required - does OCBC have such little regard for its customers' time?

Currently at the counter, wait was about an hour. The whole time I was observing, the personal banking personnel were idling when there's no customers, but the counter service only had 1 staff attending. The queue system could do way better than this, judging that the bank is reputable with huge standing. Quite disappointing honestly.

Horrible experience on Saturday, 14 June, at about 3+pm. Was trying to get guidance to resolve some personal banking queries but was met with a slew of questions from a male and female staff at the entrance who didn’t know their facts. Ended up wasting over 40 minutes at the bank as we were misguided due to the male and female staff who gave wrong information. Matter could have been easily resolved at the ATM had the male and female staff not provide the wrong information that we need to wait and resolve the matter at the counter.

My first time banking with OCBC, I had recently opened a new savings account and needed to go down to a branch physically to apply for a ATM card in order to get access to online banking services.
I went down on a Sunday at about 1.30pm. The person who helped me take the correct type of queue number was already super helpful, and the branch was quite empty still! My queue number was called within minutes (only 1 other person in queue who was a no-show).
I was served by Tay Yee Hong (Zheng Yuhong) who was super professional and scarily fast and efficient. From issuing my new ATM card to helping me get access to online banking on my phone, the entire process only took about 30min. He is clearly very experienced and well-trained on this process, and also very service-oriented!
I was quite stunned bc reading prior Google reviews I was really mentally prepared to wait 2-3hrs to be served. But thank God this was not the case! I chatted with Yee Hong a bit about this, and he told me actually Sunday is the best day to visit this branch as it is really not too crowded.
As a society, we tend to only take the time to give bad feedback, but I truly believe that we should give excellent feedback where it is due. So here is my 2 cents, and I hope this review has blessed you in some way! :D
(BTW if you're applying for a Debit Card, you actually need to bring your physical NRIC. Singpass NRIC not enough, do take note)

Poor counter service. Went down on 16 july 2025 around 1pm to do some bank paper works this afternoon on the most right side counter the person who serve me it's like i owe him money. Giving horrible attitude saying i should tell him the information first. The attitude is like i wasted his time. I still remember at first i already give him the information. Himself forgotten it. Nevermind. I tell him nicely maybe we forgotten. After that still need continue to see his stupid attitude. First time when to bank an receive such an attitude. This type of person if cannot keep his attitude better don't work front desk. Bring down company repetition.

Went this branch on 30th July, the staff told me if bank needs to do any of check will inform customers for acknowledgement. Open an account only one week said close my account for no reason

Poor organise and wait around 2 hour plus for counter service. There will only 2 counter service open although they have 5 to 6 counter

As an OCBC premier client, can't even get a red packet envolope from the lady manning the premier center. If simple things like this can't even get it done, I have no confidence to upgrade to premier private. Hence I won't rcommend this bank.

This is more a review of the home loan refinancing experience rather than the branch.
The quality and responsiveness of service has greatly dropped over the past 3 years. Service staff are slow to respond with each simple answer taking 3-4 days.
The repricing rates are below market and there is no benefit from being a long time customer. I can tell from the service staff response that they do not care at all and would not mind me going to another bank.
Being a long time OCBC customer this is greatly disappointing and I cant wait to shift my assets out of this bank to another bank that cares about it's customers.
