My GIRO application was rejected twice due to irregular signature so I visited the Premier Banking side to get some help. I was hoping that someone could verify that I was physically present, signing the form in front of OCBC staff, just trying to pay for my child's school fees... But this was not possible. This is not their fault. Blame falls squarely on OCBC Management who insist on using archaic methods of verification. Unusual for a bank who claims to be digital. Send tens of thousands electronically? Sure! Pay for child's school fees? Make sure you remember every nook and cranny from your signature from 10 years ago first. Make it make sense. Carey (uncertain about spelling as she did not wear / show her name tag) could have been a bit nicer about the whole thing. I feel for her having to defend the bank's backward ways but she didn't have to be so aggressive. Shermein was far nicer and pleasant to interact with. While she gave the exact same advice her colleague did, I was inclined to follow hers as she presented it in a much kinder way to a distressed customer who just wants to pay some school fees.
