Opted for a light dinner at Yoshinoya NEX and ordered their smallest portion. While the meat looked plain and bland at first glance, it was actually well-marinated with just the right balance of saltiness and flavor. However, the rice quality doesn’t quite match up to Sukiya’s standards.
Overall, it's a good option considering the price and pleasant dining environment.

Terrible service. I ordered 1 ramen and 1 beef curry rice and top up the rice with 6 grain rice and waited for more than 10 mins and still nothing come to me until I walked to the counter and confronted the server. By then the server told me they were running out of 6 grain rice and asked if I could change to normal rice. No one would have notified me if I didn’t walk there and it was only 11:45am by that time and the supply is already out?????? Do they really want to do business? The shop only has less than 8 tables of customers and all the others were eating except me and my daughter. What’s wrong with this shop?
And is this a fast food shop or what? This is ridiculous

place is too cramped. the male staff making the food and serving is rude and doesnt talk to the customers. this is not the first time ive experienced bad service from this male staff but ive let it slide everytime. portion is so small compared to other times ive come. asked for mayo and he looked so reluctant and only squeezed these small blobs. everytime i come, the portion gets smaller and smaller but price is still so high. please make some changes.

Very stingy with the amount of beef provided for the beef bowl and soup tastes like flavoured water. I can get a more satisfying meal (with drink) at other fast food outlets with the amount paid. Probably my last time dining at this outlet.
I looked through the past comments and there are many feedbacks about the puny portion and nothing has changed since then. Perhaps management is too complacent and pretending to listen to customer feedback, when nothing has changed on the ground.
Lady staff cannot understand English and had to talk to her in Chinese.

Update Jan 2025: Tried the new Teriyaki Chicken combo today hoping that I will be proven wrong but sadly it still falls well below expectations. It might be a pretty hefty size for a chicken thigh which I appreciate for $13.90, but where's the Teriyaki? I didn't taste anything from the skin nor meat, in fact I barely registered any taste for that matter, the entire chicken was bland, though it was cooked through. I have had BBQ chicken from supermarkets that taste better. I actually felt that the usual 3x fried chicken chunks were better, at least they had some taste.
What happened to the Yoshinoya that first arrived in SG? I recall it was soooo close to the ones I had in Japan. But from that point it's been down hill all the way, the gyudon lost like 90% of its flavour and color, now it looks like a washed out, blanched version of the former. And they removed the Teriyaki Chicken combo meal! Replaced it with Karrage that's pretty weak. The Teriyaki chicken from before was grilled till tye skin was slightly charred and drizzled with Teriyako sauce it was heavenly. They did bring the Teriyaki Chicken back like last year for a short promo, but just like the beef, the chicken looked like it was boiled and then teriyaki sauce was doused over it. Sad.

The place is cosy for a fast food chain. Service was ok. That was all that it offered. From here onwards, it’s all downhill.
The order panel screen shows a decent bowl of gyudon with beef slices and lots of onions. But when the food arrived, there’s beef slices but only a mini skinny slice of onion. The bowl is small and rice is dried. Cost $6 for a small bowl.
I compared this to Sukiya Gyudon restaurant. For the same price or even lower, you get a bigger bowl of beef rice, lots sautéed onion slices, spring onions, an onsen egg and much more.
My first visit to Yoshinoya after many years and I believe will be my last for many years to come.

Japanese fast food. Instead of burgers, they serve rice. Their beef rice and chicken rice are both not bad.
The A&W that I had didn't taste like root beer at all though; it had a strong licorice flavour to it.

As a fast food chain, the food standard is fairly consistent in different locations. Service is self-order and self-collect, so it's less contact with staff for health-safety. A staff clears tables very quickly, so cleanliness is good.
Taste-wise, I tested the kimchi qyudon bowl at different branches. This place is still consistent in taste. Not the best beef cut nor sauce flavours, but not so oily either. Rice amount can be customised to less rice, which is a good option if you are calorie-counting! Kimchi was average quality, but you really don't expect a fast food place to provide high quality kimchi.
Food was prepared quite fast and was ready for collection in less than 15 minutes. Note that this is after peak lunch hour (assumed between 12.30-1.30pm).

My family and I have been long years of customers of Yoshinoya outlets in both Singapore and Japan for many years, particularly during our travels. We’ve always appreciated the consistent quality of their food.
Being familiar with their beef bowl (gyudon), we often request an extra bowl of sauce to moisten the rice to our preference. We also enjoy the addition of cheesecake to their menu, which is a delightful touch.
However, during our recent visit, the portion of beef seemed smaller compared to what we’ve had before—though I could be mistaken.

I'd like to thank the staff on duty for being so welcoming and for helping us with positioning our baby stroller.
The food itself was decent and I liked that the karaage was juicy. Would recommend for a fuss-free dining experience.
