We r welcomed with a decent service, but bad choice to place us. They placed us near entrance and it's ok. But im carrying 3,( 2 belong to me and 1 belong to my gf) bags with me and my gf, so physically 2 chairs from normal row wun b enuff space.
So I request whether I could take a 4 seater space behind me so I could put my bags or I could use 1 more chair to put my bags. The waitress looked at me blur at first and told me tats for 4 seater so we can't take the seat. But gave me a chair to put my bag, so far so good nth wrong.
So we get seated and I start checking my cups and sauce dish. As I've worked F&b in the past, im very concern on cleanliness on utensils tat I use for consumption. The cups is very very dirty. I lifted up my cup and there is residues from sushi. So I do my own cleaning instead of asking for a new 1 as due to this I ald dun trust any utensils serve to me. I use the hot water provided to spill abit into my cup and wipe. Guess wat? It's brown. It means it's residues from past tea leaves, god knows when it's last properly wiped.
Then as I pour my hot water I saw there was a leakage, the tap is broken as shown in my picture. By the time I pour enough water, quarter of my table is wet and I hav to waste some tissues for this.
There after another customer come in with only 2 ppl with no bags, the servers placed them in the 4 seater. I didn't question them, I just take picture and im just gonna put them here as a review. Im very disappointed and worse part is the restaurant is air coned but it's nt even cold, it's near lukewarm. And it's very dangerous to hav raw sushi in such temp over 2 hrs. Potential health hazard. My gf eat most of the sushi and mostly is ordered instead of us taking from the conveyor belt. Upon request for caramel pudding, they took the wrong pudding and even try to give us a not cold pudding from the conveyor belt which god knows how long it's been in the lukewarm temperature.
Im sorry sushi express but this time at nex outlet u hav really really disappoint me. I've always eaten in nex and hougang outlet but this time round really hits the mark of huge disappointment to me. Im Going sushirou instead.

Come in with ok expectation and get what I expected. A budget place for your sushi craving that don’t hurt your pocket. For the price u get sushi with ok taste and quality nothing much to shout about but great for value.

Disappointing dinner -
We were sat at seats 22 & 23 beside the kitchen. If you're looking for a comfortable place to have a sushi dinner, sushi express is NOT the place for you.
The ventilation was bad, making it quite stuffy. AC was non-existent, I had to use my own portable fan to make myself more comfortable. The choice of music was eclectic to say the least; almost as if they had to play royalty-free music, resulting in a mish-mash of random technofunk tunes.
It was almost as though there is a thinly-veiled concerted effort by the management to ensure a high turnover rate of customers by creating an uncomfortable environment to dine in.
Food-wise:
1. There was a number of newer items on golden plates however the quality of aforementioned items was more black plate.
2. Sushi express managed to stealthily change white plate items to be black plate items (aka price increase for the same ingredient). Case in point: the abalone with cheese used to be white plate. Quick glance through the other real reviews reveal the same sentiment: shrinking the number of white plates while increasing the range of higher priced items.
3. I requested for crabstick mentaiko (white plate) but was told there were no more of this! Instead, the kitchen was pushing out the crabstick with chili mayo (black plate) and mentaiko salmon (golden plate). Which is ??? Logic bro, you've got crabstick, and mentaiko and sushi rice.
The feeling of leaving 1/4 full is not a good feeling to have, and my only wish is for the management to just dine in during peak hours and see for themselves how stretched the staff, and how uncomfortable the whole dining experience is from the POV of a paying customer!
I am not sure if Sushi Express buys 5 star reviews or who the heck is giving 5 star ratings but this is nowhere near a 5⭐ in terms of Food, Service nor Atmosphere. I would very much rather spend my money at Sushiro than to give Sushi Express another dollar.

This is the sushi place I will goto when my family is not too hungry or can't think of what to eat.
The reason being, u can go on a budget or binge eat at this joint.
White plates - $1.50, Black -$2, yeĺlow-$3, so u eat till your wallet feels happy
Plus you can just commence eating immediately if you are hungry and not have to wait for the staff to serve you.
Do note that payment can only be done cashless, as they do not accept cash anymore.
Food is not fine dining standard, but if you manage your expectations, it actually is good enough when you want a quickie.

I have been a regular patron of this sushi restaurant for quite some time, as it used to be my go-to place for sushi. However, my recent visit left me feeling disappointed. While the staff remained friendly and accommodating, the absence of several of my favorite dishes and an excessively long wait for the salmon sashimi were major letdowns.
In the past, I had always enjoyed the prompt service and the wide variety of sushi options available. Adding to my disappointment, a number of my preferred dishes were unavailable. I was specifically looking forward to the steam prawn, which was no longer on the menu. The absence of these beloved dishes significantly impacted my overall dining experience and left me feeling unsatisfied.
Despite these shortcomings, it is worth acknowledging the staff's positive attitude and friendly demeanor.

I visit this outlet regularly, and the food quality has always remained consistent. The salmon miso soup is a must-order every time! I also tried the Zermatt salted egg abalone — surprisingly tasty and definitely worth a try.
The staff here are always attentive and friendly, especially the aunties — shout out to them for their great service! I wouldn’t dare say it’s the best outlet in Singapore, but it’s definitely above average and one of my favorites.

I always enjoy dining at Sushi Express! The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful — their warm hospitality makes every visit a pleasant experience. The service is fast, and everyone goes out of their way to ensure you're comfortable. My absolute favorite is the lobster salad gunkan — it’s fresh, flavorful, and a must-try! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great sushi spot with top-notch service.

Quite a budget sushi 🍣 shop. Overall experience not bad. Varieties are just nice, could be more. Taste wise average, not too bad neither too good. Worth a try, high CP value.

Choices not that much but the price is average. Hope they provide more variety of food on the conveyor.

The sashimi here is nicer and fresher then the other outlets same goes for the cheese oyster. California roll is also bigger and more puff up.
Clean outlet with friendly staff.

Don't expect much since it is a conveyor belt affordable sushi restaurant anyway. Generally tasted ok. Salmon sashimi is not good quality but ok for the price. The cheesecake is surprisingly good lol. The place is too crowded with too few staffs so it's not properly managed. But they tried their best to accommodate all the customers, so I appreciate that.

Food keep update new things 👍👍 . I still want a big scallop was very nice . The cashier staff is very nice and friendly 😊 the fried item I don’t think is good becoz the timing standby make it not more crispy.. can change to order when customers want it .
