Have not been to Nex food republic for a while. I knew there is a newly revamped Food Junction at level 4 and it was too crowded.
So I went to Food Republic to pack lunch at Lixin fish ball noodles.
The worst service I have ever had from a food stall employee. Mistake to go there for food.
My food was ready and yet the Chinese female employee (aunty) with small eyes at the cashier who took my order didn’t give me a nod that my food was ready. She let me waited at the stall for about 10min even when there wasn’t a queue. I wasn’t aware that my food was ready as they also took delivery orders online.
Finally she nodded to me that my food was ready and I asked her why she didn’t even bother to let me know. She replied that I was looking at my mobile. OMG…I was just glancing at ONE text message, I wasn’t even hoarding it. Told her off that she should have let me know when I was just next to her all the time!! Shame on her attitude. Lousy service.
To the boss of Lixin fish ball noodles, hiring a good employee is crucial for your business as the newly revamped Food Junction is a threat to you now. Wake up and send your employees for customer service courses.

Disappointing Hygiene and Service at Food Republic
I can accept that Food Republic may not offer the same kaya toast set as in Singapore, but the least they could do is maintain basic cleanliness.
The plates I received had visible egg stains, showing they were not properly washed. When I asked for a clean plate, the staff didn’t even bother to replace it. This reflects poorly on both the cleaners and the serving staff—where is the quality control?
If this is the standard of service, it won’t be long before competition from China surpasses you. Basic hygiene and customer care should not be too much to ask for. Very disappointing experience.

First time trying their Claypot Herbal Bak Kut Teh at $7.90. It's good but just not as good as Klang Bak Kut Teh where the soup is more thick with herbal taste.

Only find this dessert shop the most affordable n worth for money!! Look at how nice aunty did for this ice kaijang! Rlly generously loaded with jus $2.90! Thank you to aunty on Sat evening who is nice!

Whenever we are in the mood for a light breakfast or dinner, we always head to the Hong Kong dim sum stall at Food Republic in Nex. This place offers a variety of dim sum options that never disappoint.
On our most recent visit, we decided to try the porridge. Although it wasn't as warm as we would have liked it to be, the savory flavors and generous amount of ingredients made up for it. The combination of different textures and tastes in the porridge was satisfying and comforting.
Food Republic tends to get quite crowded, especially during dinner hours. Despite the hustle and bustle, the vibrant atmosphere adds to the overall dining experience. The lively energy and the aroma of freshly cooked food create a welcoming environment for diners.
Overall, our visit to the Hong Kong dim sum stall at Food Republic was enjoyable, and we left feeling satisfied and content. It has definitely become our go-to spot for a delicious and light meal with friends.

Dont buy stir fried pork ribs, cost $8.90 but the portion is so small. Only 3 small pieces of pork rib and onions, means 1 piece is $3 with big bones somemore??? Felt like I ate nothing. Won't buy from their stall again, such dishonesty!

Came on a Saturday at 6.30pm. Had the Sembawang Claypot (Claypot rice and Lala bee hoon) and Fishball noodles, and Eggs tarts from Swee Choon. There’re actually ample seating inside. Not overly crowded for a weekend evening. Food from Sembawang Claypot are pretty good, but the lala has a bit of sand. Taste wise I think they are both quite on point. The two dishes came up to $20. Two bowls of fishball noodles $15 - I think this is quite expensive although the serving of fishballs and fish cake are quite generous. Swee Choon egg tarts are good, just like the original stall.

The food republic at Nex is always crowded during lunch and dinner time. I went in the morning about 10am and can find seat easily. My first time trying the wanton noodles. Portion is just nice for me. There are pork lard and make the noodle even more delicious. The roasted char siew tastes nice and not too fatty. There are 3 wantons in the soup. The chilli is spicy and goes well with the noodles. Noodles is QQ.
The next food I always ordered is the Dim Sum. The char Siew Su is very yummy and I love it. I can even have 2. And together with my coffee, it is so nice. The fried mee sua was a bit hard but I can still accept. Overall this place is clean and spacious. The tables are clean as there are aunties who clean the table.
