Today, Kitty and I decided to have dinner at the Sushi Tei in the next mall. We cycled down from Punggol, having planned to visit Gardens by the Bay and Orchard Road to take some Christmas photos. As we passed by Sushi Tei, we decided to grab dinner. It had been a long time since I last visited Sushi Tei, about 10 years ago, and I vaguely remembered having potato salad there. This time, I couldn't find the potato salad on the menu, so I asked the staff, who mentioned it was likely a seasonal item. Today, I wanted to build a new memory with Kitty, having a sushi day at Suhi Tei with her this time.
When we arrived, we were amazed by the Demon Slayer theme. The restaurant had a special theme running until January 12th, 2025, featuring decor, posters, and themed placemats. It was so cool. Kitty was thrilled because she has some favorite characters from the show, and she couldn't resist taking photos and selfies all around. She even snagged a tote bag when we ordered the Demon Slayer theme meal set. The restaurant was lively and decorated with Demon Slayer cards, posters, and even themed chopstick covers.
Kitty was so happy with the Demon Slayer theme, it really made her feel like she was stepping into the anime.
The food was also a highlight. We decided to try the Demon Slayer theme meal set, which included a selection of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes. We were impressed with the quality and freshness of the food. The sushi was beautifully crafted and the sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. But the real star of the show was the Fried Garlic Rice and the sashimi. Kitty loved it.
We also enjoyed the Chawanmushi, Soft Shell Crab, Suo SSM, and Cha Soba. We also ordered the D. Tonkatsu Set, but it wasn't our favorite dish. The Tonkatsu was a bit unique, with black breadcrumb, but the taste didn't really stand out.
The staff was friendly and attentive. They explained the Demon Slayer theme to us and even recommended some of the best dishes on the menu. We also took advantage of their special promotion. If you spend $68, you get an $80 voucher. It's a great deal because you can either use it in one go or split it up over several visits. Plus, it's valid for a whole year. Since our bill was $138.24, we only had to pay an additional $58.24 because of the voucher. This means we saved $12 in total.
Sushi Tei also had a great Sapporo beer promotion - two cans of Sapporo beer for just $11.80. I couldn't resist grabbing the beer promote to go with our meal. However, when I asked for my second can of Sapporo after my first beer was emptied, the waiter only brought me the can. My glass wasn't chilled anymore, so I had to ask for a change of glass. It would've been nice if they had brought a new, chilled glass along with the beer without me asking, but that's just a small detail.
Our overall experience at Sushi Tei was fantastic. The Demon Slayer theme really added to the fun and made it a memorable dining experience. We definitely recommend checking it out if you're a fan of the anime or just looking for a delicious Japanese meal. The food was great, the atmosphere was lively, and the staff was helpful and friendly. It's a great option for a casual dinner or a special occasion.

Good place for Japanese food. Tried the promotion Spicy Salmon Ramen - tastes like Kimchi Ramen in a good way.

One of the few trusted japanese restaurant chain that you can count on. Food here is consistently good. Service staff are attentive and friendly. Signature sashimi salad with their house dressing is a must have whenever my family dines here. However, I noticed that the dressing is a little oiler than usual. Overall, still tasted good. I highly recommend Hanasaki Ika Tempura. This squid with smelt roe tempura is one of my regular order too. Crispy, chewy and umami goodness in every bite. They are super addictive.

They serve sukiyaki without toufu?? Asked the staff, she mentioned sukiyaki is without toufu... If this is the case, please remove the toufu from the menu to avoid misleading...
