Always passed by this restaurant but never got to try. Happened to be a rainy day decided to have hot soup so visited here. Was already planning to dine elsewhere but changed our minds. Not very busy on a weekday lunch, we ordered food and was served rather quickly. We were happy that the portions were rather big good enough for 2 to share at least, and just ordering 4 dishes was already considered quite a lot we couldn't finish everything. Soup is definitely good, enjoyed the horfun, the pandan chicken pieces are quite chunky and nice, loved the tofu which was pretty flavourful. Quite surprised when my friend said the soup was refillable and we really did get our refills. Chinese tea was also refillable. Was okay with the dining experience overall except that the staff were not so busy and talking away, we raised our hands a few times for refilling soup and tea, thought they saw it but no one came. Customer service could definitely be improved. Bill was quite reasonable as well won't mind coming back again.

Kudos to the 4 floor staff running the entire restaurant busy serving food. We can see they are really short handed but still managed to keep up with orders and refills. Food protion seems to have shrunk but I would be back for the service. Ordered the salted veg duck soup. It has the flavour notes of all the salted veg and duck. But I felt the soup was on the saltier side. Get the fried eggplant with honey. It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It is also piping hot. Remember to ask for your soup refill.

I’ve always walked past this outlet but never got to try. Finally got to try it last night with a few friends. Service was great, we were seated promptly and the soups came really fast. Their ABC and Watercrest soups tasted of a much higher grade compared to those you get in the food courts. Other dishes we ordered took about 20 minutes to be served, and we were joking that they only sell soup here and outsource the rest of the dishes to other restaurants! 🤣 The sweet and sour Grouper, minced meat tofu, half spring chicken and ngoh hiang were all very good as well!

Lao Huo Tang has good quality food. There is a good variety of zi char dishes, and their soups are some of the must have items (as the shop name might imply). The service is good and the waiting time for the dishes to arrive was not too long even during the lunch crowd. One downside the price is a bit higher at this type of outlet compared to their food court outlets. However I feel it is worth eating here.

In all honesty, it's a place that I'd go to if I'm looking for a warm fuzzy evening. Prices may be a little steep for the quantity of food, but for the amount of effort, I think it's alright. Had their soup delivered through Deliveroo. Ordered the Beauty Collagen Soup with Peach Gum, as we were not hungry and just felt like drinking some soup. The extra container of soup was definitely a very helpful option. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
