Udon and rice is ok. Price is ok. Free condiments.
You definitely pick some fried food ( tempura ). Really tempted by the super big prawn ( see the length considering I got long fingers).
Over ordered abit so left very full. Udon is nice. Tempura Flour can reduce abit as it Overpower the prawn and meats etc. Either the flour or over ordering make us extremely food.

Very easy to queue to order udon and got it in no time. love the choices of tempura items (had a few and it was okay).
The tempura sauce dispenser is a bit too forceful. Have to be careful pressing it or stand back.
Not sure if the air con is not strong or the place is warm. A bit uncomfortable sitting in.
overall it is a good experience.

Idaten Udon at NEX serves up reliable Japanese udon in a fast-casual setting ideal for mall-goers. Their kake udon showcases the simplicity of good udon โ chewy, house-made noodles in a light dashi broth that's subtly flavorful without being overpowering. The curry udon offers a heartier option with its thick, mildly sweet sauce clinging perfectly to the noodles. Tempura sides, particularly the prawn and mixed vegetable kakiage, provide satisfying crunch though the portions lean small. The open kitchen layout adds a lively vibe, and service moves quickly to accommodate the lunch rush. While the menu sticks to classics rather than innovation, the quality is consistent and prices are fair for the location. It won't replace a specialty udon shop for purists, but makes for a convenient and tasty meal when shopping at NEX โ just temper expectations for a truly transcendent bowl.

๐๐ป The eatery was clean and bright with plenty of seats.
๐๐ป There was a staff keeping tabs of the empty tables available so diners didn't have to worry about getting a seat.
๐๐ป Orders were prepared quickly.
๐๐ป The limiting factor was the slow cashier.
๐๐ป Tempura was generally oily. The greatest disappointment was the jumbo shrimp fry. The batter was hard and the shrimp had a bitter taste - clear indication of frozen shrimp.
๐๐ป For the price point, the eatery provided a fuss free dining experience with their comforting udon.
๐ Just don't get the tempura. They were nothing close to how Japanese tempura - crispy yet light - should be.

Staff was very observant and perceptive. I noticed my partner ordered an onsen egg which I didnโt know was an option and staff proactively offered to ask me if I wanted it as well. 11/10 for excellent customer service, for being observant AND proactive.
Food was good also.
2 sets of beef Niku Udon , with some tempura on the side. Hands down arguably best fried seaweed in the whole of Singapore.
Fish cake however wasnโt up to my taste / preference.
Very wide selection of fried tempura items.

This fast food udon joint is very popular and attract many youngsters and students probably due to its location in Nex.
Food is really served fast and you get to choose the karaage chicken was quite good not oily, but the rest very average.
Beef udon is good and the broth is light and very drinkable which is what you'd like for udon so you can drink up.
Alas a shame at the end the food return tray was so stacked that we had no where to place the trays.

This place is packed. We ordered the Carbonara udon and the curry udon. Let me tell you that their curry might be one of the best in SG at this price point. Service was quick. We enjoyed our meal. And i think this is a new go-to for me for a quick Japanese udon fix.

My new favourite udon place. Quick service, but quite unproductive. Why not just self checkout at a kiosk? Still, the udon is nice. The tempura is not crispy. Seems to be left outside for very long, soggy and cold. Below expectations. Their flat udon is not that good, tastes like guo tiao, the traditional one is better.

My son recommended us to try the Udon at IDATEN NEX.
There was a small queue when we arrived but it moved smoothly.
We ordered the beef soup udon and the seafood Ikura udon, each with a giant prawn tempura.
I must agree that the soup udon were both delicious and they were not overly priced.
The giant tempura, though a little pricey, was really good. Even though flour was deep fried, the prawn was rather juicy and fresh.
Staff there were helpful when we asked about the food before we placed our orders.

Stating the obvious - this is no Michelin Star udon ๐ but itโs pretty value for money at that price point.
I didnโt think much of it at first but pleasantly surprised it does the job. Close enough to Tamoya (whose standards have slipped).
Thereโs a long queue on Fri nights but the staff is prompt and efficient. Overall Iโd recommend it as a โdoes the jobโ quick casual udon chain!
4 stars because itโs not wow but at least it meets my expectations for the price point
